Heh. it actually is and he even recognises it in novel. In this case he is the bad guy who uses river to dump trees and destroy the bridge. You won't say it culprit is river in that case. He just used different kind of river... there were spies in pavilion who were bound to steal the recipe and there was greed for money which made it 100% percent that bad pills will circulate. Same as with logs and river, in that case problem will be attributed to natural disaster, he shifted blame on Lengs while his motive was purely financial gain... earning money from new pills, earning money from puffed trading of the grass (by creating fictional need for grass and secretly dumping it back, he actually created market fraud) and even earning money from blood hall when they resolve problems which came with his bad pills.
Lengs are just morons being used in his scam
In novel he even says on one occasion he wished he could earn more, but that would expose the truth. And that is one of nicest traits of MC,... he is not perpetually good guy, he is more than willing to be bad guy as well and this is why novel is so good

Are the flowers really THAT worthless that you would just burn them? Almost everything that exists has more than one use. It might take some imagination and scientific knowledge to find proper and efficient uses for things, but there would almost always be more than one.
That's a rather extreme transition. Going from calming an angry mob to trying to trying to murder someone in broad daylight.
They are financially and reputably ruined. Now, they're using force and possibly have the authorities step in is just adding fuel to their colossal fuckup.
